Senior Stud Vet & Junior Ambulatory Vet

Job Overview:

We are seeking 2 vets to join our newly established Equine ambulatory practice based in South Kilkenny. Our focus is heavily weighted towards thoroughbred farms with a roughly 50:50 racehorse to stud farm breakdown.

Stud Position: The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 5 years experience, primarily reproductive stud farm work. The successful applicant will have primary responsibility for the veterinary care on a large thoroughbred stud farm in the area. The focus of the role is routine repro work, yearling and foal care. The primary vet would be supported by a junior ambulatory vet, nursing team and highly experienced, dedicated farm staff.

Junior Ambulatory Vet: The ideal candidate would have 2 years or more experience in Equine practice however a recent graduate with the right skill set and interest would be strongly considered. The successful applicant will work between the main Stud farm and Racing yards gaining valuable experience in both fields. Opportunities will be available to take primary responsibility for smaller pre training and stud farms for the right candidate.
