Description:

Principal Procurement Professional

As Principal Procurement Professional you will join the T26 Platform Supply Chain team to manage the contractual relationships across the JCI/ Tyco for fixed firefighting, fire, smoke, flood detection, and chilled water. The Chilled Water Plant is lock-pout equipment meaning on-time delivery into Govan is essential in order to achieve the build schedule. The other two packs are whole ship contracts meaning the equipment is fitted to most compartments across the ship which places a critical dependency on performance management of the supplier to ensure they deliver on time and to specification. These critical contracts are worth around £60m and form a significant proportion of the platform material budget so effective cost management is essential.

Your main responsibilities as Principal Procurement Professional:

· Performance manage the suppliers to ensure they deliver to schedule, cost and quality. They will be required to manage the cost account (c. £60M) ensuring spend is within budget and provide key inputs into the quarterly EAC process.

· Engage with multiple stakeholders to ensure the commissioning activities are conducted in line with programme requirements. They will be required to ensure the dependencies of other functions are delivered to facilitate the start of commissioning activities and will be responsible for addressing any deviations from the commissioning plan with the T&C team and the suppliers.

· Provide reports into senior management to support monthly SCAM activities, inputs into MPR/JPRs, quarterly EAC reviews and ad hoc briefings as requested.

· Represent Supply Chain at senior level meetings with both the suppliers and internal reviews, interfacing with Heads of Programme, IPT Directors, the Supply Chain Director and Ship Managers.

· Liaising with stakeholders in the GCS programme to share knowledge and information about the suppliers and emerging risks/opportunities, liaising with the M&L Sector as appropriate through the regular Supplier Management Network sessions with Subs and Maritime Services, and working closely with Supplier Development and Quality teams to address emerging issues/risks.

Your skills and qualifications:

· Experience of managing complex contracts; commercial acumen; negotiating skills.

· The ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders

· Excellent communication skills

· The ability to manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent activities
