The Data, Technology and Innovation (DTI) division enables the FCA to be a digital-first, data-led smart regulator by delivering a secure, agile, and cost-effective technology and data ecosystem that drives better decisions, transparency, and operational efficiency. Sitting within DTI, the Digital Intelligence Solutions team deliver a Digital Unified Intelligence Environment (DUIE) to surface insights for action through tools, dashboards, and bespoke analysis.

Role responsibilities

Analyse solution designs, perform technical assessments, deliver Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and create high-quality documentation to define future engineering standards

Implement and manage Conditional Access Policies to strengthen security, maintain compliance and safeguard the organisation’s digital environment

Develop dynamic Power BI compliance dashboards and design KQL queries to produce actionable insights, support informed decisions and enhance performance

Collaborate with Azure stakeholders to boost platform efficiency, control budgets, optimise costs and apply automation to streamline operations

Work with the Resiliency Team to design, implement and test disaster recovery strategies ensuring reliability, data integrity and uninterrupted service delivery

Contribute to shaping the FCA’s Azure estate, gaining hands-on experience with Microsoft Cloud technologies while advancing technical and professional skills

Skills required

Minimum:

Prior experience in Azure Cloud Engineering with strong expertise in cloud-native services, acting as a subject matter expert and driving the delivery of secure, scalable and efficient cloud solutions

Proven experience in designing, implementing and managing Azure environments, delivering measurable enhancements in performance, reliability and cost efficiency

Skilled in utilising automation and governance tools such as Terraform, GitHub and Azure administration to optimise infrastructure and streamline operational workflows

Essential:

Experience in Azure IAM, including Conditional Access Policies and SAML SSO, with hands-on management of VMs, Storage, Networking, Azure Functions, Defender for Cloud, Azure Firewall, Virtual WAN and VNet Peering, alongside automation using PowerShell and Azure CLI

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with tools such as Terraform, Bicep and ARM templates to streamline deployments, ensure consistency and enhance operational efficiency

Strong understanding of Azure Policies and Landing Zone Architecture, supported by multiple Azure certifications, showcasing expertise in architecture, stakeholder management and influencing outcomes
