About the job Assistant Manager - Retail
The Freeport Assistant Manager will be responsible for supporting the manager in day-to-day operations. This person will be sales-focused and able to communicate needs to the manager to make sure the store is successful. This person will be involved in staff training, scheduling, and also helping with inventory management. This person will have strong problem-solving and communication skills. This person will work closely with the Sales Leads to ensure store success.
Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day staff training
Plan and lead 3rd party brand training
Assist Sales lead in Toad&Co brand training
Being sales focused and leading by example on the sales floor
Work with manager to write the schedule
Communicate store needs to manager
Assist with inventory management
Qualifications:
Retail experience, hopefully in the clothing and/or outdoor industry, is important, but not a requirement
Leadership experience preferred. Must be comfortable in a leadership role. Able to be in charge when other leadership is not available
Must be a solution oriented problem-solver and approach challenges with a positive attitude. Comfortable jumping right in and contributing ideas.
Able to take general guidelines and turn them into action
Excellent communication skills and experience working in group settings.
Display an entrepreneurial mindset and interest in the broader business development of the store
Must love the outdoors, whether it's camping, climbing a mountain, or enjoying a drink on the patio.
Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time, necessary to provide sales floor coverage related to customer service and loss prevention. Able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, and carry product, necessary for customer service, inventory re-stock and store merchandising. Comfortable climbing ladders
