$17.13 - $23.72 per hour

Pay rate is determined based on years of experience Job Summary: This is a 9.5 month position, 7 hours per day - 87.50%

Purpose:

The paraprofessional assigned to the Pattonville Success Academy (PSA) program will assist in creating a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students enrolled in an alternative education setting. This role requires a high degree of positive contact with both students and instructional staff. Additionally, this position also performs a variety of instructional and classroom management support, as well as related clerical tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in the classrooms and learning environments.

Qualifications:

Ability to organize and prepare classroom lessons and materials

Thorough knowledge of the methods, techniques, and procedures used in teaching

Desire to work with and educate children

Ability to motivate others, be creative, flexible, and patient;

60 college credit hours - education related courses preferred, or paraprofessional certification

60 credit hours can be supplemented by passing Paraprofessional Assessment through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE)
