About the Opportunity
We're seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Commodity Buyer - Chemicals to join a leading manufacturing organization based in Longview, WA. This is a key role within the procurement team, responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing the purchase of critical chemical commodities that support high-volume production processes. From bleaching agents and process additives to water treatment chemicals, you'll ensure cost-effective, sustainable, and compliant purchasing strategies that keep operations running smoothly.

What You'll Do
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key chemical commodities aligned with production goals and sustainability objectives.
Lead RFQs, supplier selection, and contract development to optimize quality, cost, and reliability.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring performance, compliance, and innovation.
Partner cross-functionally with Operations, R&D, and EH&S teams to meet safety and regulatory standards (REACH, TSCA, etc.).
Conduct supplier audits and market analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
Manage inventory levels, resolve supply chain challenges, and ensure operational continuity.
Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, safety, and environmental responsibility.
What You Bring
Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Business (preferred).
Experience: 3-5 years in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain-ideally within the chemical or manufacturing industry.
Certifications: CPSM, CPIM, or PMP are strong assets.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and data-driven decision-making.
