About Us:

H&A Farms is a family-owned, multigenerational agricultural business with operations in Orange, Lake, and Levy counties. The companies farming and packing operations manages 1,000+ acres and packs fruit for another 60+ growers throughout Florida and Georgia representing another 1,800+ acres. The company also has an agritourism business that operates as Amber Brooke Farms located in Eustis, Florida and provides u-pick, special events, festivals, and private event activities for nearly 10,000 guests every year. We are seeking a skilled Facility Maintenance Technician to join our team and support our operations.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and experiencedQuality Control Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the fruit we pack meets specific quality standards for freshness, appearance, and safety before they reach customers. This position is based in a fruit packing facility where temperatures typically range from 35F to 55F. Employees must be able to work comfortably and safely in a cool environment for extended periods of time while performing their job duties. The ideal candidate for this position should be well-organized and possess good communication skills. They should be comfortable with managing paperwork and utilizing information systems. A good understanding of quality control procedures is also important.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect and test materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality standards are met.

Conducting tests and analyzing results to identify defects or inconsistencies in products and processes.

Making recommendations for improvements based on the data collected during inspections.

Collaborating with production and quality assurance teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.

Maintaining accurate documentation of quality control tests and inspections.

Qualifications:

Work experience as a Quality Control Specialist or similar role in the fruit farm industry.

Knowledge of food safety practices and prior experience working in environments where adherence to food handling standards is essential.

Experience with relevant software, such as MS Office and data analysis software.

Data collection and analysis skills.

Computer knowledge and bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
