Position: Residential Youth Counselor - Job# 72

Location: Winsted, CT (just 10 minutes from Torrington!)

Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours/week

Pay: $18.12/hour

Shift:

Saturday 8:00 PM – Sunday 6:00 AM

Sunday 8:00 PM – Monday 6:00 AM

Monday 8:00 PM – Tuesday 6:00 AM

Tuesday 8:00 PM – Wednesday 6:00 AM

What You’ll Do:

Provide direct care and supervision for adolescents during overnight shifts

Act as a positive role model, reinforcing individualized treatment plans

Facilitate engaging group sessions and therapeutic programs, including Restorative Justice and DBT-Lite

Ensure the safety and well-being of youth, respond to crises, and conduct routine safety checks

Support youth with special needs, including physical or emotional challenges

Maintain accurate documentation and reports

Provide transportation as needed

Uphold professional boundaries and build trusting relationships with youth and families

What We’re Looking For:

High school diploma or equivalent - Required

Experience working with at-risk or court-involved youth - Required

Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring attitude

Valid driver’s license

Flexible availability, including overnight hours and weekends
