About Anthropic

Anthropic’s mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems.

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Systems Manager to join our Finance Systems team at Anthropic's Dublin office. As our first Finance Systems hire supporting international operations, you will be instrumental in establishing and scaling the systems infrastructure that enables our international accounting operations, with an initial focus on leading our Financial ERP implementation for Anthropic's international entities.

As we continue to expand internationally, you will play a critical role in designing and configuring robust intercompany accounting systems, international reporting frameworks, and building the technical foundation that ensures compliance across multiple jurisdictions. You'll partner closely with our International Accounting team to understand their requirements and translate them into scalable system solutions.

This is a unique opportunity to build foundational accounting systems and processes from the ground up at a rapidly scaling AI company. You'll work at the intersection of technical systems expertise and accounting domain knowledge, partnering closely with our Finance Systems team in San Francisco, Business Technology teams, and International Accounting stakeholders to enable Anthropic's international growth while maintaining the highest standards of financial accuracy and compliance through robust system configuration.

Responsibilities:

ERP Implementation & Systems Leadership:

Lead the Financial ERP implementation for Anthropic's international entities, serving as the primary finance subject matter expert and project owner

Partner with Business Technology, external implementation partners, and cross-functional stakeholders to define requirements, design solutions, and drive successful deployment

Configure ERP to support multi-entity, multi-currency accounting operations with appropriate controls, workflows, and approval hierarchies

Develop and document comprehensive process flows, system configuration documentation, and standard operating procedures for international operations

Lead user acceptance testing, validate system functionality against business requirements, and manage issue resolution through go-live

Intercompany Accounting Systems & Automation:

Partner with international accounting teams to identify manual processes that can be automated through system configuration or AI integration

Design and configure automated intercompany accounting processes, system controls, and reporting within ERP across Anthropic's international entity structure

Build system workflows to streamline intercompany transactions, including automated intercompany invoicing, settlements, and eliminations

Implement automated reconciliation tools and dashboards to ensure intercompany balances are reconciled in real-time

Configure systems to support intercompany agreements, transfer pricing calculations, and related compliance documentation

Leverage AI capabilities (including Claude) to automate complex transfer pricing calculations, compliance checks, and anomaly detection

Identify opportunities for process and system improvements, staying current on ERP roadmap and emerging capabilities

Training, Adoption & Ongoing Support:

Develop comprehensive training programs and materials for international accounting teams on new ERP system functionality and accounting processes

Drive user adoption through hands-on training, office hours, and creation of self-service resources

Provide ongoing system support and troubleshooting for international users

Serve as the go-to expert for ERP system functionality and international accounting system questions

Gather user feedback and identify opportunities for system enhancements and process improvements

International Reporting Systems & Compliance Framework:

Design and configure reporting frameworks within the ERP to generate statutory reporting outputs across multiple jurisdictions, including IFRS and local GAAP-compliant financial statement packages

Build automated month-end and quarter-end close workflows, validation rules, and close checklists to support international entities' reporting processes under IFRS, local GAAP, and US GAAP

Configure system functionality to support IFRS and local GAAP requirements including revenue recognition engines, lease accounting modules, and other relevant standards

Develop key metrics and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into international operations for the International Accounting team

Configure and implement secondary ledger structures to support dual reporting requirements (IFRS/local GAAP and US GAAP), including automated conversion and reconciliation tools

Build audit-ready reporting packages, system documentation, and data extraction tools to facilitate external statutory audits

Design system reports and reconciliation tools that enable the International Accounting team to manage differences between IFRS/local GAAP and US GAAP for consolidation purposes

Process Improvement & Scaling:

Continuously evaluate and optimize international accounting system processes for efficiency and scalability

Identify automation opportunities and work with Business Technology teams to implement solutions

Build scalable system processes and controls that can support Anthropic's rapid international expansion

Document best practices and standard operating procedures for international accounting system operations

You may be a good fit if you:

7+ years of ERP and financial systems implementation experience, with exposure to international accounting operations and multi-entity environments

Hands-on experience leading ERP system implementations from requirements gathering through go-live and hypercare

Working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP standards to effectively configure systems that support multi-GAAP financial reporting; understanding of key differences between IFRS and US GAAP

Strong understanding of system requirements for intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, and multi-currency operations

Understanding of statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions to design appropriate system outputs (EMEA and APAC experience strongly preferred)

Demonstrated ability to translate accounting requirements into system configurations, workflows, and automated controls

Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders

Excellent communication and training skills; ability to explain complex system and accounting concepts to diverse audiences

Proven ability to build system processes from the ground up in high-growth environments

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related field

Strong candidates may also have:

Prior experience at a high-growth technology company navigating rapid international expansion

Working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP standards including revenue recognition (IFRS 15), leases (IFRS 16), and financial instruments to configure appropriate system modules

Knowledge of transfer pricing regulations to design system support for documentation and calculations

Experience configuring systems to support dual reporting frameworks (IFRS/local GAAP and US GAAP) and building reconciliation tools for consolidation

Experience with other financial systems and integration tools (e.g., NetSuite, SAP)

Familiarity with US GAAP requirements to support US-parent company consolidation system configurations

Understanding of external audit requirements to build audit-ready system outputs and documentation

Understanding of international tax and regulatory requirements to configure appropriate system compliance outputs

Background in change management and driving organizational adoption of new systems and processes

Technical skills including advanced Excel, SQL, data visualization tools, or AI tools like Claude

Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices.

Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team.

How we're different

We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills.

The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences.

Come work with us!

Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
