A Level 1 trauma hospital in Columbus, OH is seeking a PA First Assist for vascular and cardiovascular surgery. This is a high-acuity, hospital-based assignment involving both OR assistance and inpatient rounding, with weekday shifts and rotating weekend/after-hours call coverage. Trauma experience preferred. Schedule & Coverage

Weekdays: Monday-Thursday, 7a-5p

Weekend Call: 1 in 4 rotation (Friday evening-Monday morning)

Shift Structure:

4 vascular PA first assists typically working 10-hour shifts

Weekdays: Full OR days + rounding on 10-20 patients

Weekends: 2 PAs in surgery (2-6 cases/day), others rounding on inpatients Clinical Responsibilities

Procedures/OR First Assist Duties:

Vein harvesting

Arteriovenous procedures

Aortograms, Bypasses, Angiograms

Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)

T-Bars, B-Bars, TAAs, Endovascular cases

Inpatient Care:

Rounding on 10-20 adult inpatients

Discharge orders

Floating from OR to the floor as needed

Patient Population: Adults

Hospital Beds: 434, Level 1 Trauma Requirements

Board Certified - Required

Active Ohio License - Required

ACLS - Required

Minimum 1 year of PA surgical experience

Trauma hospital experience strongly preferred

Emergency privileges can be granted during credentialing Practice Setting
