Med/Surg Travel Nurse Job Details

Location: Bridgeport, WV 26330 (West Virginia healthcare jobs)

Facility Setting: Acute Care – Med/Surg 5S Unit

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (10/27/2025 – 1/26/2026)

Shift: 12-hour days (7am – 7pm), every other weekend required

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1820-$1950

Charting System: Epic EMR

Scrub Color: Royal Blue

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – West Virginia or compact state

BLS certification (Basic Life Support) required

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience

Proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips

Valid, unexpired driver’s license required with application

Willingness to work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotation

Compliance with facility policies (e.g., no false nails)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality patient care to adults with diagnoses such as CHF, cardiac cath, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology cases

Manage patient ratios typically 1:5-6 (may be up to 7 based on acuity)

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including CNAs, charge nurses, and respiratory therapists

Float to other units as needed, including stepdown or Med/Surg assignments in critical care areas

Perform EKGs and administer aerosols for non-vented patients

Document all care in Epic EMR system

Participate in orientation (1-2 shifts with a preceptor)
