To meet our high standards every day, we are looking forward to your scientific expertise in the Kerl Lab at the Pediatric Hematology and Oncology with a focus on cancer immunology. Our group describes the cellular heterogeneity in pediatric tumors and its impact on therapy response. In this project we focus on identifying mechanisms of cellular communication between immune and tumor cells in pediatric cancer. In order to do this, we use advanced single cell based technologies, including single cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics and multiplex immunohistochemistry – ideally with you on board!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working with single cell based technologies and in vitro models
Independent planning, execution, documentation, analysis and interpretation of experiments
Presentation of results in both written and oral form, delivery of reports
Support and supervision of projects from PhD students
Aquisition of project funding/ securing grants
REQUIREMENTS:
Doctorate/PhD in life sciences, human medicine or related fields
Successful postdoctoral experience in the area immunology or cancer immunology including excellent publication record
Experience with transcriptomics and immunohistochemistry
A background in cell culture of diverse cell lines, 3D cultures and primary immune cells
A keen interest in experimental work and mentoring students
Oral and written communication skills (German, English), organizational skills and high motivation to work in an interdisciplinary team
