About the Role
JBS Carriers are currently seeking experienced Livestock Drivers to support the transportation of cattle between feedlots, saleyards, paddocks and abattoirs. These positions are full-time and can be based out of Tamworth or the Griffith/Riverina region in New South Wales, or Toowoomba in Queensland. Applications from around these regions will also be considered.
Full-time driving rate up to 0.6077 CPK plus allowances
Casual driving rate up to 0.6988 CPK plus allowances
Your key responsibilities will include:
Transporting cattle in accordance with the NSW Livestock Loading Scheme, JBS Australia Livestock Transportation Requirements and Animal Welfare Guidelines
Ensuring the efficient operation of the Prime Mover and associated equipment
Completing daily pre-start checks on vehicles before operating
Ensuring compliance with all Road Transport Requirements COR and NHVR
Operating under Basic Fatigue Management (BFM)
Ensuring compliance with OH&S and Environmental Regulations
Ensuring compliance with Road Transport Requirements and Laws
Adhering to Workplace Health and Safety Requirements
About You
Current Multi-Combination (MC) Driver’s Licence
Previous experience as an MC Driver
Previous experience transporting livestock or livestock handling experience
Sound Traffic History Report
Sound Livestock Handling Skills
Hold a Basic Fatigue Management Certification or willing to obtain
Good work ethic
Physically able to ascend/descend ladders and stairs as well as undertake manual labour (e.g. loading and unloading cattle at various facilities)
Knowledge of the above locations advantageous
Ability to work across a 7 day period including weekends
