Job Summary:

All Modal Transportation is seeking a Forklift Operator / General Laborer / Assistant Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for operating forklifts, assisting with yard and facility upkeep, supporting mechanics, and handling container loading/unloading and palletizing tasks. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-focused, and flexible in assisting with a variety of daily operational needs.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Load and unload containers and trailers using a forklift.

Palletize and shrink-wrap commodities; secure loads with straps, load bars, etc.

Organize and maintain yard and warehouse grounds (e.g., blowing debris, degreasing oil/fuel spots, power washing, collecting trash).

Perform light building maintenance (e.g., painting, replacing lights).

Assist mechanics with tasks such as retrieving parts, organizing scrap, mounting and dismounting tires from rims and other

Operate tools and equipment including hand tools, power tools, compressors, and pressure washers.

Carry out other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

Proven forklift operating experience.

Good verbal English communication skills.

Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, compressors, and yard maintenance equipment.

Reliable attendance with flexibility for occasional overtime or weekend work.

Additional Job Information:

Safety-Sensitive Position: Strict adherence to safety policies is required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be physically fit and able to lift 75 lbs independently and up to 150 lbs with exertion.

Ability to carry up to 60 lbs for up to 20 feet.

Must stand for extended periods, with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and pulling.

Work environment may be cold, hot, noisy, wet, or contain fumes/odors.

Other Requirements:

Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity.

Use of safety equipment (e.g., face shield/goggles, gloves, knee pads, ear protection, safety vest, and other PPE provided by All Modal Transportation) is mandatory.
