We are seeking a Clinic Receptionist who will serve as a liaison for our new Primary Care office. The Clinic Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring efficient administrative operations within the clinic.
Front Desk/Clinic Receptionist Responsibilities:
Greet patients and visitors warmly, both in person, online, and over the phone, ensuring a welcoming environment.
Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using the clinic's scheduling system.
Verify and update patient information, including insurance details, in the EMR.
Accept co-pays and outstanding balances, providing receipts and maintaining accurate financial records.
Handle incoming calls and messages, directing inquiries to appropriate staff members and taking detailed messages and other documentation when necessary.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area, ensuring informational materials are up to date.
Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry as needed.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and always maintain patient confidentiality.
Provide administrative support and help resolve administrative issues for the Primary Care physicians and advanced practice clinicians at assigned care site(s)
Support the Practice Manager of Primary Care with all administrative tasks which may include tracking of data, reporting, communication/dissemination of information, etc.
Assist other members of the MedOne team such as Credentialing, HR, Finance, etc. in supporting efficient operations
Obtain provider signatures as needed
Coordinate Certification of Medical Necessity (CMN) requests
Assist Clinical Documentation to ensure timely query and coding responses
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: Prior front desk or clinical experience in a medical setting preferred

Ability to manage multiple tasks and see them through to completion despite frequent interruptions
Familiar with verifying insurance and communicating with insurance companies
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff and contacts within the hospital and outside the organization
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with medical terminology
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff and contacts outside the organization
Able to maintain strict patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA rules and regulations
Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel)
Efficient and accurate typing skills
Preferred- AthenaHealth EMR proficiency
