Description:

AWS Global Services includes experts who help customers design, build, operate, and secure their cloud environments through AWS Professional Services, Training and Certification, Support and Managed Services, and Security Assurance Services. You'll join a diverse team of technical experts in dozens of countries helping customers achieve more with AWS.

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a Technical Product Leader to join as a Senior Consultant. You will combine deep product management expertise with technical depth to lead customer teams through complex cloud solution development. You will own the product vision and roadmap for customer solutions, working directly with Software Development Engineers (SDEs) and technical teams to drive delivery.

You will work backwards from customer business outcomes to define product strategy, lead technical product development, and apply AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework. As a technical product leader, you will drive product discovery, write PRDs and technical design documents, facilitate feature prioritization, and make data-driven trade-off decisions. You will coach customer product owners on Amazon's product development mechanisms while ensuring successful engagement outcomes.

Possessing strong product management and project delivery expertise, you will lead product planning sessions with stakeholders, participate in architecture discussions, decompose complex problems into deliverable features, and guide technology choices. You will proactively identify and manage risks, facilitate decisions, escalate when appropriate, and manage overall engagement delivery. You will achieve relevant AWS certifications, develop domain expertise, and communicate effectively to both engineering teams and business audiences.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team helping customers realize their desired business outcomes on AWS Cloud. We work with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network to execute enterprise cloud initiatives, delivering focused guidance through global specialty practices across solutions, technologies, and industries.

Key job responsibilities

As an experienced technical product leader, you will be responsible for:

- Leading product vision and strategy for customer solutions, working backwards from business objectives to define product roadmaps, requirements, and success metrics

- Driving technical product development with Software Development Engineers (SDEs), facilitating product discovery, backlog prioritization, feature definition, and technical design decisions

- Guiding technical implementation through architecture reviews, technical trade-off decisions, and application of AWS best practices and frameworks while maintaining credibility with engineering teams

- Managing engagement delivery end-to-end, including project planning, risk management, stakeholder management, budgets, and delivery of business outcomes across multiple concurrent workstreams

- Coaching customers on product best practices, including Amazon's product development mechanisms, agile methodologies, and data-driven decision making to build internal product capability

- Making data-driven product decisions to balance customer requirements, technical feasibility, resource constraints, and project timelines while managing expectations across engineering and business stakeholders

- Leading product planning activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives, and roadmap reviews while ensuring quality, security, and performance standards are met

- Enabling knowledge transfer and adoption of AWS services through hands-on collaboration with development teams, acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the engagement lifecycle

- This is a role for someone who wants to bring their product management and technical expertise to a space with opportunity to deliver innovation in a customer-facing, professional services context.

A day in the life

As a Senior Consultant (Technical Product Leader) at AWS Professional Services, you'll lead technical product development for our enterprise customers while ensuring solution quality through AWS frameworks like Cloud Adoption Framework, Well-Architected Framework, and Global Delivery Framework. Your day involves defining product vision and roadmap with customer stakeholders, leading product refinement sessions with development teams, and making architectural and feature trade-off decisions. You'll balance hands-on product leadership with engagement management activities - from facilitating daily stand-ups and sprint planning sessions to conducting architecture reviews and writing product requirement documents.

You'll spend most of your time doing product work with customer and internal SDEs and technical teams, driving feature prioritization, decomposing complex requirements, and guiding technical implementation decisions. You'll coach customers on product management best practices, influencing customer stakeholders to drive the product vision and roadmap for how they build their solutions on AWS. You will lead complex engagements across diverse customers to define new capabilities through product and technical design documents, facilitate backlog management, and ensure delivery aligns with business outcomes and allocated budgets. You will have a high level of comfort with ambiguity, a deeply analytical and product-oriented mindset with the ability to investigate complex technical and business challenges, and can effectively influence across engineering and business organizations. You work backwards from the customer, dive deep into data and technical details to understand the issues, and drive product development to deliver collaboratively with customer teams and AWS specialists.
