COO (M/F/D)

Our client is a well-established confectionery manufacturer with over 100 years of heritage, up to 500 employees, and a portfolio of 50+ products exported to more than 50 countries. As a subsidiary of a larger international group, they combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, producing exclusively in Germany.

They are seeking a dynamic and hands-on Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead their site operations. The COO will report directly to the CEO and will be responsible for the full end-to-end management of the site, including production, supply chain, quality, safety, engineering, and people leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all site operations, ensuring efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing, logistics, and technical functions.

Oversee supply chain, procurement, and inventory management to ensure optimal flow of materials and finished goods.

Ensure compliance with health & safety, food safety, and regulatory standards.

Manage site budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics.

Lead and develop a diverse team across operations, engineering, and support functions.

Collaborate closely with the CEO and group leadership on strategic initiatives, investments, and innovation.

Represent the site internally and externally, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

Ideal Profile

Proven experience in a senior operations or plant leadership role within FMCG, ideally food or confectionery.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and operational best practices.

Fluent in German; English proficiency is a plus.

Hands-on leadership style with a strategic mindset.

Experience working in a mid-sized or family-owned business environment is advantageous.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
