Position Requirements

SUMMARY

This is a new position and is part of an emerging new team that is quickly growing the Federal Practice for HEAPY. The Project Manager will have the opportunity to work with the Client Strategies Leader and a Senior Project Manager to strengthen and grow relationships with clients and enhance market presence through delivering excellence in leading Federal projects.

This position manages the full life cycle (proposal-initiation-execution/control-closeout) of design engineering, commissioning, energy optimization, sustainability, or engineering/construction projects and the complete project success. This includes maintaining a superior client experience, a high level of colleague and contractor engagement/collaboration, and achievement of financial sustainability targets.

The Project Manager is responsible for client focused communication and outreach, understanding and communication of the project scope to both the client and colleagues, establishing the Client's Guiding Principles for the project, project schedule, cost, cash flow, quality, resource planning requirements, team technical management and risk management elements required to optimize client service, quality, and fiscal responsibility. This position will also apply deep electrical engineering expertise to technological needs in Federal projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering and typically 9+ years of progressive experience in design or process engineering, building technology development or start-up, and/or field construction (or equivalent working knowledge/experience).

A top candidate will have experience in Federal Government or Department of Defense Project Management.

A Professional Engineering (PE) registration is highly desired. Possession of a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification and working toward achieving a PE could be considered.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Guides HEAPY service delivery to ensure consistency with the appropriate service operating procedures and identified milestones.

Oversees project execution with a strategic focus on profitability, ensuring efficient resource allocation, cost control, and streamlined workflows.

Participates in project costing and bid/proposal preparation to the extent required.

Assumes a pivotal role in identifying and pursuing opportunities to expand HEAPY service offerings within existing accounts and across all verticals of the business.

Establishes client - HEAPY - architect - construction manager liaison network to keep all interested parties informed of project communication, planning, schedule, and work progress.

Reviews assigned project(s) after award to HEAPY to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences, and develop schedules, budgets, resource planning, client communication plan, and progress billing points.

Collaborates with the Client Strategies Leader and other leadership to form a project work team and ensure project responsibilities are assigned, and execution of tasks are initiated and completed according to schedule.

Submits documents to appropriate federal, state, and local authorities for code compliance review and obtains the various permits required.

Holds regularly scheduled project progress review meetings with both internal and contract team members to ensure that:

A project contract's terms, conditions, and specifications are being met.

Project personnel adhere to federal and state regulatory requirements, processes, and policies.

All project personnel are following security procedures and confidentiality agreements.

Delays and cost overruns, at best, are entirely avoided, or, at worst, kept to a minimum.

Resource requirements, equipment, materials, and quality problems are recognized for timely intervention and resolution.

Represents the HEAPY culture, maintains colleague morale and interacts appropriately with client counterparts.

Engages directly in electrical engineering/design and maintains design oversight and leadership.

Ensures information for progress billing purposes is submitted correctly and on time.

Meets with client management as necessary during a project's terms to resolve issues and upon project completion to obtain final client approvals.

Participates actively in the client feedback process and maintains a leadership role in understanding client comments, positively engaging with the client when opportunities to improve our performance are identified.

Maintains a continuing business relationship with assigned clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.

Proactively engages in Federal project pursuit efforts by gathering appropriate intelligence of opportunities and supporting the development of pursuit-winning strategies.

Maintains and drives awareness of federal client unique needs and procedures.

Reports client management activities and opportunities using CRM system.

Additional responsibilities as needed/requested.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

Ability to remain sedentary at desk for long periods of time while operating a keyboard and using a computer screen.

Ability to communicate in person and via phone with other individuals.

Possession of Reliable transportation to and from the project.

Ability to work in all elements of indoor and outdoor environments which include the heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.

Ability to access all areas of the jobsite with activities that include ascending and descending stairs, scaffolding, ladders, navigating elevation changes, etc.

Capable of working in physical positions that may include maneuvering self into different positions traditionally is achieved by kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc.

Ability to move, transport, or position items weighing up to 25 lbs.

Ability to apply established protocols and practices in a timely manner and follow safety guidelines for both company and clients.

Ability to gather, organize and evaluate information related to projects and calculations (such as finances, timelines, etc.).
