Job Title: Logistics Supervisor

Reports to: Warehouse Manager

Job Summary:

Manages inbound and outbound distribution of goods and provides support and backup assistance with warehouse operations and other administrative duties in our Highway 75 warehouse.

Supervisory Responsibilities: n/a

Duties/Responsibilities:

Plan order shipments based on product availability and customer requirements.

Plan daily picking schedule and distribute orders to pickers.

Oversee all picking activities, including proper palletizing, tagging/labeling, and verification of completed orders to ensure accuracy.

Communicate shortages to production, sales, and management.

Select LTL carriers for shipments based on rates and time in transit to ensure timely delivery of orders.

Contract/book trucks for truckload and pool truck shipments (inbound and outbound)

Collaborate with scheduling and production planners to ensure product availability.

Schedule inbound and outbound loading appointments.

Negotiate contracts with truckload and LTL carriers.

Approve freight invoices for payment.

Provide support to Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Assistant as requested.

Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Understanding of the trucking industry, including DOT regulations, scheduling, and driver safety

Understanding of WMS systems

Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Able to effectively collaborate with individuals and teams from all departments.

Able to negotiate freight rates fairly and respectfully.

Understanding of upstream and downstream supply chain processes.

Education and Experience:

2+ years of transportation or logistics experience

Physical Requirements:

Office and Warehouse environment

Lift 5 – 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 – 50 pounds occasionally.

Sitting and/or standing for long periods of time

Must be able to go up and down stairs and walk to other departments in the manufacturing facility.

Repetitive motion and fast paced movement.

Work may require bending, stooping, squatting, and reaching.

Temperatures of warehouse may vary.
