Job Description

Job Objective: The Summer Administrative Resident is a full-time, 12-week position, starting in late May, ending in Early August. The Summer resident is paired with a Preceptor and will partake in an in-depth learning experience that includes meetings with leaders and clinicians, and execution of meaningful projects within the healthcare operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Job Functions:

Undertakes and/or participates in projects and programs designed to develop professional and leadership skills and expertise appropriate to the needs of the organization.

Participates in the planning and implementation of projects and initiatives within operations

Receives guidance, training, and coaching from preceptor in planning and carrying out assignments and projects.

Actively participates in learning organizational management and assesses opportunities for improvement within the organization through application of health care theory or organizational development principles.

Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning and self-improvement through reflection, goal setting, self-assessment, and cultivation of professional networks.

Engages with variety of employees to various aspects of the organization.

Prepares and delivers operational or project progress reports.

Evaluates situations or issues by understanding and challenging assumptions, considering competing points of view, and anticipating potential effects within and beyond the organization.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Shadowing various job functionalities across the organization.

Delivers Focal-Project Presentation at end of Internship to OGGI Leadership.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.

Ability to analyze and interpret quantitative information for organizational decision making.

Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions.

Project management skills.

Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize work.

Credentials and Experience

Bachelor's Degree required

Must have completed at least one year of an MHA, or MBA (with healthcare focus) program with intent to complete the following year.

Special Requirements

Ability to work in variety of locations across central Ohio

Physical Demands

Must be able to sit (frequently), stand (frequently), walk (frequently), stoop (frequently), bend over (frequently)

Must be able to independently lift 25 pounds (occasionally)

Applies the principles of body mechanics in lifting or moving equipment (occasionally)

Work Environment

Medical offices and lab

Must be alert and energetic with constant attention to detail and adherence to workflow demands. Attention to detail is required in the completion of activities.
