As a “Mechanical Design – Engineering Manager” here at Honeywell, you will lead and manage a team of mechanical design engineers to develop and deliver components for Life Support and Environmental Control Systems withing the Aerospace organisation. You will provide technical guidance and support to your team members, ensuring that they have the resources and knowledge needed to excel in their roles. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will drive successful project execution by managing timelines, budgets, and resources. You will manage a team of approximately 12 full-time employees including regular 1:1’s working on technical and career development, as well as a team of subcontractor engineers supporting the organization.

You will report directly to the Director of Engineering and you’ll work out of our Yeovil, UK location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and efficiency. By implementing best practices and leveraging the latest technologies and methodologies, you will contribute to the overall productivity and effectiveness of the mechanical design function.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Lead and manage a team of mechanical design engineers to develop and deliver high-quality Life Support and Environmental Control Systems.

+ Provide technical guidance and support to team members.

+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

+ Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.

+ Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team performance and efficiency.

+ Regular employee 1:1’s driving employee engagement

YOU MUST HAVE

+ Experience in mechanical design or related aerospace development activity

+ Knowledge of mechanical design principles and methodologies.

+ Experience with product testing and validation.

+ Excellent leadership and team management skills.

+ Experience working in an Aerospace environment with knowledge of the required processes and design standards
