Advocate

Role Description:

Seeking a qualified advocate to represent the client (intervener) in a 3-day Financial Settlement hearing taking place in Nellore, Andhra Pradesh, in early November. The hearing will be conducted via video link with a UK court, and the advocate will support and represent the client locally during the proceedings.

Responsibilities:

Attend the full 3-day hearing in Nellore( Nellore is 3 hours by car or train from chennai)

Communicate with the UK legal team and assist the client throughout the process

Ensure smooth technical setup and connection for remote participation (via Microsoft Teams)

Provide legal guidance, interpretation, and reassurance to the client during proceedings

Qualifications:

Must be enrolled with the Bar Council of India

Strong command of English and ability to speak and understand Telugu

Prior experience in family law / financial settlement matters preferred

Familiarity with courtroom procedures and client handling

Must have access to a laptop and be comfortable with video conferencing tools (Microsoft Teams)

Ability to travel to Nellore and be present for 3 consecutive days in early November

Calm, professional demeanour with good listening and communication skills
