Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Controller to lead our finance department. This is a senior role that blends comprehensive accounting oversight with strategic financial partnership. You will be responsible for all statutory compliance, financial accounting, and management reporting.
This position involves light CFO duties, requiring you to provide strategic insights, manage cash flow, and guide business units using financial data. You will manage a team of junior accountants and work directly with senior management to ensure the financial health and compliance of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Statutory Filings & Compliance
GST: Oversee all GST-related activities, including accurate and timely filing of returns (GSTR-1, 3B, etc.) and management of the E-Way Bill process.
Direct Tax: Ensure full compliance with Income Tax and TDS regulations, including calculations, payments, and return filings.
Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for our external Chartered Accountants, managing audits, finalizations, and any advisory matters.
2. Financial Accounting & Operations
General Ledger: Take complete ownership and responsibility for the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger, managed primarily in Tally.
Accounts Receivable (A/R): Supervise the A/R process, ensuring timely invoicing and collection.
Accounts Payable (A/P): Strategically manage vendor payments, aligning them with cash flow projections and optimizing working capital.
Export & Banking: Oversee all export documentation and bank clearance procedures, coordinating effectively with third-party consultants to ensure smooth operations.
3. Management Accounting & Strategy
Breakeven Analysis: Prepare and analyze detailed breakeven reports by division and retail unit.
Business Guidance: Use financial data to provide actionable insights and guidance to the Sales and Merchandising teams to improve profitability.
Reporting: Deliver accurate and timely Monthly P&L statements and other key financial reports to management.
Forecasting: Develop and maintain rolling Cash Flow Projections to support strategic planning and liquidity managment.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Finance, or Accounting. (CA Inter or CA qualification is highly preferred).
5 years of proven experience in a senior accounting role (e.g., Head Accountant, Finance Manager).
Expert-level proficiency in Tally (or specified ERP) and MS Excel.
In-depth, practical knowledge of Indian accounting standards, GST, TDS, and Income Tax.
Demonstrable experience in preparing management reports (P&L, Cash Flow, Breakeven).
Experience with export documentation and banking procedures is a strong asset.
