Description:

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Air Liquide is undertaking a critical global initiative to transition its core business processes and systems onto a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platform. We are seeking a highly specialized and results-oriented Tax Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and manage the tax-related aspects of this major ERP migration across our Latin American (LATAM) operations.

The primary objective of this role is to act as the liaison between the central ERP implementation team and local country tax teams. The SME will be responsible for meticulously analyzing, redesigning, configuring, and testing the transition of all existing tax-related workflows, processes, and reporting requirements from the current ERP system to the new platform, ensuring continuous compliance with complex and varied LATAM tax legislation.

Tax Process Design and Compliance (The "To-Be" State)

Serve as the final authority on all tax-related configurations and functional specifications for the new ERP system within the LATAM scope.

Conduct comprehensive gap analysis between the existing tax workflows ("as-is") and the requirements of the new system ("to-be").

Design and document optimized, automated, and compliant tax processes in the new ERP, including but not limited to:

Electronic invoicing (e-Invoicing/Nota Fiscal)

VAT/IVA, GST, and Sales Tax determination and reporting.

Withholding tax configuration and remittance.

Statutory ledger and tax book reconciliation requirements.

Validate system design with local tax contacts and external compliance consultants to ensure zero-defect compliance upon go-live.

Business Process Owner in tax related processes.

ERP Migration and Execution

Lead the entire tax workflow transition and data migration from the current ERP to the new system across all designated LATAM countries.

Work collaboratively with IT, system integrators, and implementation partners on the build, configuration, and testing phases.

Develop, execute, and document robust User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts for all tax-specific business scenarios and reporting output.

Identify, escalate, and resolve complex tax configuration issues, ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable.

Coordination, Training, and Change Management

Act as the primary point of contact for the local Country Tax Teams, coordinating their input and securing buy-in for new processes.

Develop comprehensive training materials and deliver hands-on training sessions to ensure local teams are proficient in the new system's tax functionality.

Drive change management efforts to facilitate a smooth adoption of new processes and minimize disruption to daily tax operations.

Are you a MATCH?

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax Law, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA/Tax certification is a plus.

Tax Expertise: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in Tax, with a significant portion focused on Latin American tax regimes (e.g., Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile). Must be familiar with common challenges like e-Invoicing, Nota Fiscal, VAT/IVA, and local withholding taxes.

ERP Experience (Critical): Hands-on experience in the tax configuration, implementation, or migration of a major ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365).

Project Experience: Proven experience participating in at least one full-cycle ERP implementation or major migration project as a Tax SME.

Language Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish is required. Portuguese is highly desirable due to the complexity of the Brazilian tax system.

Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional and multi-cultural teams without formal authority.
