Job Description

Band Saw Operator – Metal Cutting / Machine Shop

We’re looking for a skilled Band Saw Operator to join our production team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for accurately cutting metal stock and raw materials to size using horizontal and vertical band saws. This position is vital to keeping our machining and fabrication operations running efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate band saws to cut steel, aluminum, and other alloys.

Read and interpret blueprints, job travelers, and cut lists.

Measure and mark materials using precision tools.

Select and install the correct saw blades based on material type.

Inspect cut parts to ensure they meet specifications.

Perform basic maintenance such as blade changes and lubrication.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Qualifications:

1+ year of experience operating band saws or similar cutting equipment.

High School diploma or GED required.

Ability to read mechanical drawings and follow instructions accurately.

Familiarity with common metals and machining materials.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
