What You'll Do:
The Bureau of Maternal Child and Family Health/ Complex Medical Help is looking for a Data Administration Manager 1 that will participate as part of program staff to develop, publish and enforce policies and procedures regarding data administration that are consistent with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) long-term direction. Duties include:
Design, develop, and maintain databases including data security, access controls and HIPAA/Ohio Revised Code compliance.
Conduct system evaluations, recommend software solutions, and oversee data collections, storage, validation, analysis and reporting.
Serve as a liaison with departmental and agency internal teams on data system requirements, usage, and updates.
Manage and maintain the data dictionary, documentation, and cross-referencing of programs and data items.
Monitor database projects to ensure compliance with priorities, policies and software licensing requirements.
Provide technical guidance, consultations, and support for system maintenance, enhancements, and development initiatives.
Collaborate with program managers to assess evolving system needs and implement strategic solutions.
Deliver training to staff on data administrations, system usage, data management, and best practices.
Participate in program development, troubleshooting and problem-solving activities. UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Overtime may be required; travel may be required, which may include overnight stay.

Qualifications
Position Qualifications:
Completion of undergraduate core program in business or public administration or data processing/computer science/information systems technology AND 2 yrs. exp. or 2 yrs. trg. in which included responsibility for developing standards for new & existing data definition, product evaluation, recommending software selection, design & development of data bases to include security measures/controls & how data is to be accumulated maintained, archived & removed from system.
