Purpose of the Job
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the collection of random samples from production batches and perform a variety of complex testing processes to evaluate the product's physical characteristics. The role ensures that all products meet specified quality standards through precise measurement using advanced testing instruments and computerized record-keeping. This position supports product consistency, safety, and compliance within Client's quality framework.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all QC and QA test procedures as specified for each product, including viscosity, weight per unit of measure, flow, gloss, and color characteristics compared with standards.
Tint batches independently and calculate resin compositions accurately.
Enter complete and accurate documentation of results in SAP.
Prepare and record customer submissions for review and verification.
Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness in accordance with 5S standards.
Calibrate and test equipment as assigned to ensure precision and reliability.
Meet or exceed established performance and quality goals.
Follow all established safety rules, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Participate in the company's Safety Journey by adhering to the Golden Principle-intervene to stop work if conditions or behaviors are unsafe.
Promote compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards as per corporate, federal, state, and local regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the success of Client.
Level of Autonomy (Decision Making and Independent Judgment)
Follows written instructions and operates within defined parameters. Independent decisions are made only within pre-established and agreed-upon guidelines.
Job Requirements
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Previous customer service experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP
Ability to demonstrate required performance within six months
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety instructions and operational guidelines
Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and measurements
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent customer service and communication abilities
Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the facility
Capability to lift up to 25 lbs
Ability to wear required PPE (safety shoes, glasses, gloves, lab coat, etc.)
Tolerance to chemical odors associated with manufacturing and testing processes
Willingness to work overtime as required
