Job Summary:
The Lab Support Operator I is responsible for supporting the manufacturing process by preparing work orders, assembling products, maintaining inventory and stock levels, supplying solvents and hardware, and handling chromatography security guard cartridges and recycled columns. This role involves rotation across various departments, providing cross-functional exposure while ensuring adherence to quality standards and operational procedures. The position reports to the Production Manager and is part of the Manufacturing & Operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
Rotate across Sorbent Room, Product Assembly, Security Guard, and Recycling departments as needed
Sorbent Room: Accurately weigh and label sorbents; pick appropriate empty column assemblies as needed
Product Assembly: Assemble empty column hardware, including end fittings, frits, and tubing
Security Guard: Pack various sorbents into security guard hardware
Recycling: Unpack columns and recycle materials according to established procedures
Prepare work orders and maintain accurate records for manufacturing tasks
Maintain optimal stock levels, supply solvents, and provide hardware support
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all critical processes
Ensure attention to detail and adherence to quality standards throughout all tasks
Required Skills & Experience:
High School diploma required; 1 year of relevant experience preferred
Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in task execution
Ability to follow written instructions (SOPs)
Efficient time management and prioritization skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience in inventory management, including timely transactions and cycle counts
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and cross-functional workflow
