Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to coordinate the collection of random samples from production batches and perform a variety of complex testing procedures to evaluate product quality. The Quality Control Technician ensures that all products meet specified standards by accurately measuring physical characteristics using advanced testing instruments and computerized systems. This role supports production quality, documentation accuracy, and compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) test procedures for each product, including viscosity, weight per unit, flow, gloss, and color comparison against standards
Tint batches independently and calculate resin compositions as required
Accurately document and enter all test results into SAP
Prepare and record customer submissions for product verification and review
Maintain proper laboratory organization and housekeeping in accordance with 5S standards
Perform calibration and testing of equipment as assigned to ensure accurate measurement results
Achieve or exceed established performance and quality goals
Adhere to all safety rules, procedures, and environmental regulations
Participate in the company's Safety Journey by promoting safe practices and intervening to stop unsafe work conditions or behaviors (Golden Principle)
Ensure compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local health, safety, and environmental requirements
Perform additional duties as needed to support the success of Client
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP software systems
Strong mathematical aptitude, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and measurements
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety and operational guidelines
Excellent organizational and time-management skills
Strong communication and customer service skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the operation as required
Capability to lift up to 25 lbs and wear required PPE (safety shoes, glasses, gloves, lab coat, etc.)
Ability to tolerate exposure to manufacturing chemical odors
Willingness to work overtime as needed
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Previous customer service experience preferred
