Position Summary:
Southeast New Mexico College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Business. The successful candidate will teach a range of Business courses and is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating instruction to support student learning and success. The position also involves maintaining regular office hours, contributing to curriculum development and assessment, and participating in college service through committee work and professional development activities. The faculty member is expected to foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment and advance the mission of Southeast New Mexico College.
Requirements for the Position:
The incumbent will be appointed to a nine-month contract with a standard teaching load of 15 credit hours per semester (5/5) at the 100- and 200-level. The position requires delivering instruction to a diverse student population in both in-person and online formats and maintaining regular office hours in accordance with the Faculty Manual. The incumbent is expected to contribute to curriculum development and continuous course improvement through effective assessment practices and collaboration with colleagues. Active participation in professional development and in college service and governance activities is required to support institutional priorities and foster a culture of learning. Assignments may include evening, weekend, or online courses as determined by program needs. Candidates must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, Carlsbad, New Mexico, or the surrounding area to ensure a reliable on-campus presence and must be prepared to perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of Southeast New Mexico College.
Duties:
Deliver high-quality instruction in Business courses in classroom and online formats, ensuring alignment with established learning outcomes.
Teach evening, weekend, and/or online courses as assigned to meet program and student needs.
Evaluate student learning and instructional effectiveness using the college's established assessment framework.
Participate in professional development activities to maintain discipline expertise and enhance teaching practices.
Contribute to the college community by serving on committees, task forces, and governance bodies that promote institutional effectiveness and a culture of learning.
Maintain regular office hours in accordance with college policy to provide academic support and advising to students.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support interdisciplinary projects, campus events, and instructional initiatives.
Attend required faculty, department, training, and committee meetings as scheduled.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Southeast New Mexico College.
