Definition Job Summary Maintenance and reconciliation of daily Treasurer's Office transactions; daily, monthly, and year end reporting; management of banking software; management and reconciliation of City investments; review of electronic deposits against funds received; daily balancing of City Treasurer's accounts; assist management with department & citywide projects; legislation; subject matter specialist within the Treasurer's Office in areas such as accounting, investments, banking, and treasury/financial information systems.
Under direction, is responsible for performing research, analysis, recommendation, and consultation to management on diverse or complex issues and matters having a fiscal or operational impact; performs related duties as required.
Examples of Work 30% - Prepares daily financial statements including a Balance Sheet, Cash Position, and Investment Portfolios.
Accounting entries are prepared, reviewed and posted for all Treasurer Fund activity.
20% - Manages inflows and outflows of the Treasurer's Office via banking and financial management software.
Exports and compiles data into both internal and citywide reports.
Creates rules and coding as needed and works with software providers during implementation and troubleshooting.
10% - Approves and reconciles receipt ALEs and Statements in the D365 accounting system.
Maintains a comprehensive record of all City deposits and resolves any issues related to receiving or reconciling deposits.
10% - Assists other City Agencies with deposits and related inquiries.
Includes assisting agencies with reconciliation, developing processes for tracking and reconciliation of deposits, and providing support for external audits.
15% - Assisting management with complex problem solving, inquiries, banking and audit tasks.
15% - Legislation, HR, reporting, collecting unclaimed funds, issuing deceased checks, purchasing and invoicing and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications Possession of a bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience researching, analyzing, and makingrecommendations, OR providing consultation to management on fiscal or operational matters, or matters pertaining to public or business administration.
Substitution(s): A master's degree may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
