Department of Children and Youth (DCY) - Bureau of Professional Development DCY is seeking a subject matter expert to lead professional learning initiatives focused on infant and early childhood mental health (IECMH) and trauma-informed care.
This role supports training development, credentialing, and cross-agency collaboration to strengthen early childhood programs statewide.
Key Responsibilities: Professional Learning & Training Development * Lead IECMH and trauma-informed care training initiatives across child-serving programs.
* Develop and deliver training for internal staff, external partners, and regional networks.
* Create and review IECMH courses, guidance materials, and online learning content.
* Ensure alignment with adult learning theory, evidence-based practices, and DCY policies.
* Provide technical assistance to trainers and stakeholders.
Credentialing & Standards * Implement IECMH and Trauma Informed Care credentialing processes in collaboration with vendors and stakeholders.
* Define credential requirements (education, experience, professional development). * Analyze and report on credential applications and status.
Collaboration & Research * Coordinate with state agencies and community partners on IECMH and trauma informed care initiatives.
* Stay current on research related to social-emotional development and trauma.
* Evaluate training outcomes and recommend improvements.
Additional Duties * Attend conferences, workshops, and statewide meetings.
* Travel throughout Ohio (may require overnight stays). Qualifications: * Expertise in IECMH, trauma-informed care, and adult learning.
* Experience developing professional training and credentialing programs.
* Strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
* Valid driver's license or reliable transportation required.
Pay Information: Unless required by legislation or union contract, starting salary will be step 1 of the salary range associated with this position.
New hires advance to the next step in the range after 6 months and annually thereafter.
Based on collective bargaining and legislative activity, there may be cost of living increases awarded annually.
Additional longevity supplements begin after 5 years.
