Elementary Athletic Coordinator

Summary

The Elementary Athletic Coordinator at Lybrook Elementary will oversee and manage seasonal athletic programs for students in grades K-5. This role involves promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among young athletes while ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all participants. The coordinator will work closely with teachers, parents, and community members to develop and implement engaging athletic activities that align with the school's mission and values.

Responsibilities

- Plan, organize, and implement seasonal athletic programs and events for elementary students.

- Coordinate schedules, practices, and games for various sports, ensuring all activities run smoothly.

- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer coaches and assistants, providing guidance and support as needed.

- Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles through educational workshops and activities.

- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation from all students, regardless of skill level.

- Communicate regularly with parents, staff, and students to keep them informed about athletic programs and events.

- Monitor and maintain equipment and facilities, ensuring they are safe and in good condition.

- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make recommendations for improvements.

- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and school policies related to athletic activities.

- Collaborate with local organizations and community members to enhance athletic opportunities for students.

Requirements

- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in physical education, sports management, or a related field is preferred.

- Previous experience in coaching, athletic coordination, or working with children in an educational setting.

- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.

- Knowledge of various sports and physical activities suitable for elementary age children.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary.

- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification prior to the start of the season.

- Background check clearance as required by school district policies.
