Our client is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer responsible for designing and developing 3D CAD models and supporting documentation to define robust, repeatable manufacturing processes for precision mechanical components and assemblies. This includes the creation of fixtures, tooling, gages, and test equipment, with a focus on quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement in a CNC fabrication environment.
Responsibilities:
Define and document manufacturing operations and sequencing to ensure product quality
Design and develop fixtures, tooling, and gages using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Create fully dimensioned 2D drawings linked to 3D models with appropriate GD&T
Manage Bills of Materials, including material selection and configuration
Maintain and revise technical documentation including CAD, BOMs, routings, and masters
Participate in cross-functional design reviews to optimize manufacturability
Support process improvements and assist with project execution
Provide hands-on support for manufacturing floor issues and troubleshooting
Assist in evaluating and implementing new capital equipment for process efficiency
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume production environment
Proficiency in SolidWorks and CAM software (Mastercam preferred)
Strong understanding of GD&T and model-based manufacturing practices
Experience designing tooling, fixtures, and gages for CNC fabrication
Working knowledge of AutoCAD
Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with root cause analysis methods
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
U.S. Person status required under ITAR regulations
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage technical documentation
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
