Typical day as our Support Worker
Supporting young people, aged 16-25, who may be facing homelessness, mental health challenges, exploitation or substance abuse, helping them to develop the skills to live independently.
Encouraging and empowering young people to achieve their goals, whether it’s finding stable housing, securing employment or building confidence.
Helping with day to day takes such as budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation.
Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews.
Working alongside a supportive team you will take the time to build real connections with young people and guide them through life’s challenges.

You bring
A passion for supporting young people to grow, develop and succeed
Experience in care, youth work, or a similar setting, or a personal understanding of the challenges young people face
The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach
A flexible understanding and personal approach to support, because every young person’s journey is unique
Our team
You’ll be joining our diverse and supportive team at Tyneside Foyer, managed by Senior Client Service Manager Emma. Emma began as a Support Worker in 2017, and the team includes experienced Client Service Managers Scott and Kayleigh. You'll also get help from our Support Coordinators and Housing Concierge in your daily tasks.
Job details
Due to our service being regulated by Ofsted you must have experience supporting young people.
You’ll work a four-week rolling rota, a mixture of weekdays and weekends.
Where we’re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion.
Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues.
You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that
