Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate the collection of random samples from production batches and perform a wide variety of complex testing processes to evaluate the physical characteristics of products. The Quality Control Technician ensures all tests meet product specifications by using sophisticated testing instruments and computerized systems for accurate record keeping. This position plays a vital role in maintaining product quality, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all QC and QA test procedures as specified for each product, including viscosity, weight per unit, flow, gloss, and color characteristics
Tint batches independently and calculate resin compositions as required
Enter complete and accurate documentation of test results into SAP
Prepare and record customer submissions for review and quality verification
Perform calibration and testing of laboratory equipment as assigned
Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S organization within the laboratory environment
Meet or exceed established performance and quality goals
Follow all established safety procedures and intervene to stop unsafe work as per the Golden Principle
Promote and adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations in compliance with corporate, federal, state, and local standards
Participate actively in the Safety Journey and continuous improvement initiatives
Perform other related duties as required to ensure the success of Client
Required Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and SAP systems
Strong mathematical skills, including basic arithmetic, fractions, and measurements
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow safety instructions and technical guidelines
Effective organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail and quality assurance focus
Good communication and customer service skills
Ability to stand for extended periods and move throughout the production area
Capable of lifting up to 25 lbs and wearing required PPE (safety shoes, glasses, gloves, lab coat, etc.)
Tolerance for working in environments with chemical odors
Ability to work overtime as required
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Previous customer service experience preferred
