PCU Nursing Job Details
Location: Columbus, Ohio (43210) – Ohio nursing jobs
Healthcare Setting: Comprehensive Cancer Center – Inpatient Nursing Float Pool (PCU)
Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/19/2026)
Shift: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19:00 – 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1940-$1990
Employment Type: Travel nursing job
Orientation: Comprehensive onboarding with bedside orientation

PCU Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of high acuity PCU or higher-level clinical nursing experience
Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
Previous travel nursing experience required
Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
Proficiency with Epic charting system
Ability to float to MedSurg and PCU Oncology units
Two professional references (one from a manager/director or formal leadership)
Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
PCU Nurse Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a comprehensive cancer center
Float between oncology and MedSurg units (BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, Urology, Colorectal, Surgical Oncology, Corrections Healthcare)
Implement infection prevention and fall prevention protocols
Manage patient ratios (PCU: 1:3, may be 1:4 with mixed acuity)
Utilize Epic for clinical documentation and charting
Perform specialized procedures: blood product administration, central line care, chemotherapy administration (if certified), arterial line management, wound care, telemetry monitoring
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams (IV, PT, RT, pharmacy, rapid response)
Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development
