Position Overview
The Field Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day field activities in the Columbus, OH market, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the companies high standards of quality. This role requires a strong leader who can coordinate field teams, manage resources, and partner with project managers to deliver successful results.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage field operations across multiple projects in the Columbus market.
Supervise and support field staff, including managers, superintendents, and tradespeople.
Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, codes, and company policies.
Collaborate with project managers and office staff to align field execution with project schedules and budgets.
Oversee workforce planning, equipment utilization, and material coordination.
Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement solutions to keep projects on track.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement in the field.
Support recruiting, training, and development of field personnel.
Serve as the main point of contact for field-related issues and client concerns.
Provide regular reporting on field performance, productivity, and safety metrics.
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in residential construction field management, preferably in mechanical (HVAC/plumbing/piping) or general contracting.
Proven ability to lead field teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of construction scheduling, cost control, and quality management.
Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
OSHA safety certification (preferred).
Proficiency with project management software and MS Office Suite.
