Field Service Engineer Niche Industry, become an expert

About the Role We are looking for a Field Service Engineer to strengthen our European service organisation.

In this position, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of highly specialised industrial systems at customer sites throughout the Netherlands and occasionally abroad.

Working primarily from the eastern part of the country, you will operate independently, providing technical expertise, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering excellent service to customers.

Youll be a key contributor to expanding service capacity, ensuring reliable system performance, and minimising downtime.

This is a hands:on role for someone who thrives on problem:solving, enjoys working directly with clients, and takes pride in maintaining high:quality standards.

What You Will Do * Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and technical inspections on complex equipment.

* Respond quickly and effectively to system faults and malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption for clients.

* Prepare accurate and timely service reports in line with internal procedures.

* Ensure compliance with safety regulations (including Dutch HSE standards and VCA guidelines). * Build strong professional relationships with customers, acting as the trusted technical representative on:site.

* Provide feedback to internal teams to support continuous product and service improvements.

What We Are Looking For Essential: * Technical qualification (MBO 3/4 or equivalent) in mechanical or electrical engineering.

* Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with hands:on technical expertise.

* Fluent English speaker (a proficiency in Dutch will be considered an advantage) * Independent and proactive, able to manage work in the field with minimal supervision.

* Valid EU driving licence.

* Willingness to travel within the Netherlands and occasionally abroad, including overnight stays.

* VCA certification (or readiness to obtain). Preferred: * Experience with combustion or incineration systems, PLC control technology, or industrial burners.

* Background in a mobile or field:based service role.

* Familiarity with ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.

* Strong communication skills, able to explain technical issues clearly to both technical and non:technical audiences.
