Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN to join the Surgical, Trauma, and Burn ICU (STICU/Burn ICU) in Ohio, requiring a compact or OH RN license and strong ICU background.
Responsibilities
Work in a Surgical, Trauma, and Burn Intensive Care Unit (STICU/Burn ICU) in a hospital setting
38-bed unit with an average census of approximately 28 patients
Patient population includes trauma, burn, transplant, surgical (ENT, ortho, plastics, colorectal), as well as neuro/medical ICU overflow
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 on days, nights, and weekends
Responsibilities include advanced procedures such as CRRT, bedside tracheostomies, PEGs, bronchoscopies, and managing large surgical dressings
Night shifts (3x12 hours), with every other weekend required
Floating required within the health system
Epic is used for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
Work in a Level I Trauma and Burn Center serving the tri-state area
Former employees are eligible after a 6-month separation from the facility
Current employees are not eligible for travel assignments at this health system
Locals are accepted at the same rate as travelers
All time off requests must be provided at the time of contract for approval
Holiday coverage as scheduled by the unit
Night shift assignments begin at 19:00 and end at 7:30
Strict fingerprinting and compliance deadlines must be met promptly upon offer
Requirements
Valid OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
Trauma Level I or Burn ICU experience preferred
Proficient in managing ventilators, CRRT, invasive monitoring, and post-surgical/trauma patients
Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Two professional references required, with at least one from a supervisor or manager
