Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details

Location: Sioux City, Iowa 51101

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 2/9/2026)

Shift: 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM), every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Unit: Cardiac Stepdown (6SW Post Critical)

EMR System: Cerner Powerchart

Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1880 - $2020

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Iowa Registered Nurse (RN) license

Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac stepdown or progressive care nursing experience

At least 1 completed travel nursing contract

Required certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS

Proficient in titrating cardiac drips (Nitro, Amiodarone, Cardiazem, Nifedipine, Heparin, Lidocaine)

Strong clinical references, including at least 1 supervisory reference

Current skills checklist (within 1 year)

Proof of taxable address (driver’s license, utility bill, etc.)

Key Responsibilities for Cardiac Stepdown RN

Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients, including those with CHF, post-angiogram, ablation, pacemaker, TEE, cardioversion, and stroke management needs

Monitor and titrate cardiac drips as per protocol

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans

Accurately document patient care in Cerner Powerchart EMR

Float within the same nursing discipline across local Sioux City campuses as needed

Participate in charge nurse or preceptor duties as assigned

Comply with all facility policies, including holiday and time-off requirements
