Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical/Telemetry position in an Observation Unit requiring a WV or compact RN license and BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

Work in an Observation Unit within a hospital setting

Medical Surgical and Telemetry patient population with a 1:5 to 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio

Shift is 19:00-07:30 on a 36/48 hour per week rotating schedule

Uses Meditech EMR system

No block scheduling is available

Responsible for caring for Medical Surgical and Telemetry patients in the Observation Unit

Orientation sessions are offered bi-weekly

Travel pairs are not allowed except under special unit needs

Holiday and weekend shifts may be required depending on the facility’s rotation

First-time travelers are accepted

Requirements

Active WV or compact RN license required

Minimum 2 years of current experience in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, PCU, or Stepdown settings

Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required

Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered

Experience with Meditech EMR is required
