Healthcare Setting: Med/Surg Unit – Ortho/Trauma (Unit 5WE)

Contract Length: 13-week travel nursing contract

Shift: 12-hour night shifts

Hours per Week: 36

Unit Size: 31 beds

Patient Ratios: 1:4-6 (subject to change based on staffing)

Employment Type: Travel healthcare job

Estimated Weekly Salary: $1570 - $1680

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience

Ortho nursing experience required; trauma nursing experience preferred

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

NIH Stroke Certification required

Ability to float to similar medical-surgical units as needed

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to work night shifts and perform shift work

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver patient care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation

Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments

Develop and maintain individualized nursing care plans

Administer medications safely and in accordance with hospital policies

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate patient care and discharge planning

Provide education and support to patients and families

Advocate for patient safety and participate in clinical quality improvement initiatives

Float to similar units and assist with rehab patients awaiting beds
