Med/Surg RN Job Details

Location: Peoria, IL 61637 (Illinois nursing jobs)

Unit: Medical/Surgical Unit, Surgical Acute

Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/10/2025 – End: 2/9/2026)

Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), 3 shifts/week

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday

Charting System: EPIC EMR

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1990 - $2130

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois or pending application

BLS certification (American Heart Association required)

Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience

Strong post-operative care and clinical critical thinking skills

Excellent bedside manner and collaborative team skills

Ability to pass a comprehensive drug screening (Drug-Free Campus)

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality nursing care to post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients

Perform wound care, dressing changes, IV therapy, pain management, and manage drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN

Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including charge nurses, patient care techs, and respiratory therapists

Float to similar hospital units as needed based on experience

Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and charting

Participate in orientation and ongoing professional development opportunities
