The role is a leader within the Disney APAC Controllership organisation and is the anchor for financial control and reporting across all of Disney’s businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
The role is also a business advisor, providing expertise, advice and financial analysis to support informed decision-making.
-This is a 13-month contract
Areas of Responsibility:
Responsibility for ensuring compliance over areas including reporting, tax, internal policies.
Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, regulatory authorities, and other service providers.
Monitor and strengthen internal controls and overall governance.
Lead group-level financial controlling activities during quarterly and annual close periods.
Support business decision-making with budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
Support project initiatives around business growth, streamlining operations, changes in compliance and legislative frameworks.
Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders both locally and across international regions.
Experience and Professional Qualifications Required:
7+ combined years’ experience in a professional services firm and/or a large corporate organisation.
Qualified accountant and member of Certificated Practicing Accountants Australia (CPA) or Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA).
Sound knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
Sound knowledge of Australian and New Zealand reporting requirements.
Proficiency in Australian and New Zealand direct and indirect tax.
Previous experience with SAP is highly desirable.
Demonstrable experience with the control framework and accounting processes of a large complex organisation.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt and problem solve.
