The Location:

Hale Makua Health Services is a Maui based non-profit that improves the well-being of those in its care through compassionate personalized health services. We are devoted to helping Maui's Elders live their best lives. Hale Makua's Kahului location is a 254-bed nursing facility.

The Position:

We're looking for passionate Activities Assistant to provide on-going meaningful activities based on resident's individual needs and interests. Leads group activities and visits residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Manager.

Visits with residents on a one-to-one basis as directed by the Activities Manager for the purpose of providing one or more of the following: Friendly visits, Physical activity, Emotional support, Sensory stimulation, reality orientation, and Intellectual stimulation.

Participates in individual and group activities with residents and other care teams.

Reports to Activities Director on resident's responses and/or progress to specific approaches utilized. Documents residents progress as assigned.

Accompanies residents on excursions, and drives facilities Handy Van.

Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Valid Driver's License required

Related experience in recreation setting or with group activities preferred.

Current and valid 2 Step TB clearance and health review (can be done in-house).
