Assistant or Associate Professor of Studio Art
Tenure-Track Faculty Position specializing in 3D Multidisciplinary Art
Goucher College – Departments of Studio Art and Integrative Arts Studies
Since its founding in 1885, Goucher College has fostered a spirit of curiosity and discovery. As a private, non-profit liberal arts college of approximately 1,000 undergraduate and 700 graduate students, Goucher is dedicated to preparing students to think critically, engage across disciplines, and contribute meaningfully to a rapidly changing world. Small class sizes, a rigorous curriculum, and dedicated faculty and staff allow for personalized mentorship of each student. Named one of the most innovative colleges in the country by U.S. News & World Report, Goucher is a leader in global education and was one of the first, and remains one of the only, colleges in the U.S. to provide 100% of its students with the opportunity to study abroad at no additional charge.
The Studio Art and Integrative Arts Studies departments invite applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Studio Art, specializing in 3D Multidisciplinary Art, to fill a new joint appointment between the two programs. The successful candidate will demonstrate not only excellence in their field in a liberal arts environment but also a deep commitment to cross-disciplinary dialogue, inclusive pedagogy, and the kind of global perspective that defines Goucher’s mission. Goucher faculty teach a load of 20 credits per year, or roughly the equivalent of 5 courses.

The faculty member will oversee the sculpture studio, play a central role in developing Goucher’s new Makerspace facilities, and ensure the safe use of fabrication tools and technologies.
In this role, the successful candidate will help define the future of 3D art at Goucher by integrating experimentation, sustainability, and community-centered approaches.
