Blackstone Real Estate Private Equity – Analyst

Job Description:

Blackstone’s Real Estate Private Equity Group offers Analysts experience on a professional team whose work involves the acquisition and asset management of real estate-related companies, portfolios of real estate assets and individual properties worldwide. Analysts at Blackstone have the opportunity to participate in all aspects of private equity real estate investing including asset, portfolio, and company leveraged buyouts, and can expect to be staffed on several transactions at once. Due to the relatively small size of the professional staff, Analysts are expected to assume integral roles on deal teams. Analysts are involved with the sourcing, modelling, due diligence, structuring, strategy, management and financing of transactions and regularly attend both internal and external meetings, negotiations and due diligence sessions.

Typically, analyst work will include:

Underwriting of commercial real estate investments, including excel financial modelling and valuation analysis

Due diligence and execution of transactions across real estate asset classes

Post acquisition restructurings, recapitalizations, refinancings, dispositions (public IPOs and private market sales)

Strategy and execution of value enhancing projects including lease and management negotiations, capital expenditure execution, platform company strategy and direction

Conducting asset tours, market research and data analysis

Development of presentations and reporting for internal and external use

Qualifications:

Blackstone seeks to hire individuals who work well in a team-driven working group, are highly motivated, intelligent, have sound judgment and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors.

The successful candidate must have:

Undergraduate degree, with strong academic achievement

1-3 years of relevant experience ideally in real estate asset investments, private equity or investment banking

Strong analytical skills; excellent attention to detail; sound judgement

Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment; ability to handle several projects at a time

A self-starter, but with the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Genuine interest in the real estate industry

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

Strong work ethic to persevere; genuine passion for excellence; results-oriented

Personal and professional integrity; desire to contribute to a positive culture

Advanced user in Excel and PowerPoint
