A Round Cook is responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent Guest experience while consistently contributing to departmental targets.
What will I be doing?
As a Round Cook, you would be responsible for providing shift relief for breakfast, dinner, station and second cooks in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Prepares and properly garnishes all food orders in accordance with menu specifications
Prepares sauces, soups and hot entrees in accordance with menu
Presents food using proper plate presentation techniques
Coordinates completion of menu items with server
Sets up for meals by ensuring proper amounts are in place for forecasted covers, special functions and any reservations
Organizes and maintains work areas, coolers and storage areas
Prepares work checklist and organizes work stations for each shift
Requisitions food with necessary approvals according to policy
Takes proper care of ranges, ovens, broilers, fryers, griddles, utensils and other equipment
Adheres to safety and security standards, including
Work area and equipment is cleaned, maintained and organized
Ensuring proper equipment operation
Working knowledge of local health/ sanitation, food storage and handling
Follow any internal, local health/ sanitation, guidelines/procedures to ensure food and beverage safety for guests
Ensure kitchen is readied for next shift
Supportive Functions:
Performs any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor.
Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents.
Performs other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up unexpected spills. What are we looking for?
