Job Summary:
The FSQA Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and enforcement of Quality Systems and Food Safety programs to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, and customer requirements. This role provides oversight of HACCP/HARPC, GMP, SSOPs, and related food safety initiatives across multiple production areas, while also leading and developing the quality assurance team.
Job Duties:
Lead HACCP/Food Safety team in developing, implementing, and verifying HACCP and Food Safety plans compliant with USDA/FSIS, FDA, and customer requirements.
Manage and verify prerequisite programs such as GMPs, SSOPs, allergen control, sanitation, foreign material prevention, and shipping/receiving inspections
Oversee environmental monitoring programs to meet USDA/FSIS and customer standards.
Provide leadership during local, state, federal, third-party, and customer audits, including preparation and maintenance of SQF programs.
Manage USDA Export process to ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements.
Conduct internal audits, vendor audits, and storage facility inspections to maintain food safety and product quality standards.
Ensure proper sanitation procedures are followed and troubleshoot system failures when necessary.
Stay current on food safety regulations, consumer protection requirements, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
Bachelorâ s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Public Health, or related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of leadership/supervisory experience.
SQF Practitioner Certification preferred.
